Karin is the owner of High Octane Training and holds a B.S. in Exercise and Sports Science, Magna Cum Laude. She is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer with over 15+ years experience as a personal trainer, as well as a certified yoga instructor, indoor cycling instructor, sports conditioning specialist, metabolic training specialist, and mind-body specialist. Karin's passion is not only making fitness fun and accessible for everyone's lifestyle, but also sharing her knowledge, experiences, tips and tricks to educate her clients on proper form, technique, and proper exercise programming. It amazes him how you can sculpt and define the body with proper food and nutrition! As far as we know, we only have one life. Isiah has found that the best way to live that life to the fullest is doing things that make you uncomfortable, accomplishing things you never thought you could, and always learning. Megan is a graduate of the United States Military Academy where she played collegiate DI volleyball for the Army Black Knights for 4 years. She was named Patriot League Rookie of the Year and Second Team All-Patriot League in 2010, and First Team All-Patriot League in 2011. She led her team in hitting % and total blocks in 2010 and 2011 and led the Patriot League in hitting % and 2nd in blocking in 2011. Though suffering a season ending knee injury in 2012, it sparked her love of coaching being physically restricted to the sidelines and motivated her to rehab and recover to play in her senior year.
She commissioned as an Army Engineer Officer where she served 5 years on active duty. While in service she played for the 2016 and 2017 All-Army Women’s Volleyball team. She was selected to the All Armed Forces Tournament Team as “Best Middle Blocker” and earned a spot on the All-Armed Forces USA team in 2017. She helped led the All-Armed Forces USA team to an 8th place finish out of 57 team at the 2017 USAV National Championships, ‘A’ Division and a 2nd place finish in the 18th Women’s World Military Championship (Conseil International du Sport Militaire), the highest finish for USA since 2011.
While in service Megan served in various and unique leadership positions:
Strength Coach Graduate Assistant at West Point for Men’s Tennis, Women’s and Men’s Basketball Teams, and Strength Team
Construction Engineer Platoon Leader
36th Engineer Brigade Department Public Affairs and Engagement Officer
Her love of fitness, sports performance, and of course love of volleyball led her to fulfill her passion of coaching, mentoring and developing young volleyball athletes on the court and in strength and conditioning all over the Central Texas area for the past 5 years, as of recent for Austin Performance Volleyball Club. She has also coached at the collegiate level, serving as a volunteer assistant coach at St. Edwards University’s DII volleyball program in Spring 2018.
Megan also competes in NPC Bikini, who debuted on stage for the first time in May 2018, where she placed 1st in her class, and 2nd in Novice.
Megan completed her time in service earning the rank of Captain in May 2018. She is currently a graduate student at the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor earning her MS in Exercise Physiology in pursue to fulfilling career in elite-athlete level training, human performance research and application, and clinical exercise physiology.
